So, I wanted some vinyl signs for the nursery, with a bible verse or a good saying, but I was too cheap to special order the vinyl saying and too lazy to get it cut by a friend’s cricut, so I was going to somehow stencil and paint it perfectly with a tiny paint brush, when my sister suggested to just glue some printed letters on. I did and they turned out great. Even close up it looks like vinyl! They cost me 80 cents/sq ft for the molding I painted and that’s just about it! Printed the letters in light gray to match the wall

Most of what you'll see here are ways to live inexpensively, and how I put those into practice with my constant need to renovate houses.
We are a military family of 7, so houses must come big and inexpensive, and made beautiful as we go, turning what most would see as trash, into treasure.
Thanks for stopping by, stay awhile and make yourself at home. I hope you enjoy my ideas.

Very cute! Did you know that you can also rub letters on to wood? Well, not on to black, but you can print out something and then use a pencil to rub it onto your wood and then paint it – kind of like stenciling only you have all the fonts on your computer to work with!
