Accessorizing the Garland

Call me crazy….and you know I don’t have time to be doing this stuff, but I get a little carried away when it comes to Christmas decorating. This year, I was really board with my basic cheap garland, so I decided to spruce it up a little. …for free, of course!
So here is the plain ol’ garland on the banister (below).
I went out and found two different kinds of evergreen trees/bushes in my yard and took some cuttings. I also went next door and cleaned up the neighbors pinecones in her yard, ( I think having 3 kinds of greenery would be good, but I happen to only have 2).
Next the kids and I twisted wire around the pinecones. I used any wire I had around. I started with florist’s wire, and ran out, so I used the wire from the Christmas lights.
Next I began adding the greenery. One kind, and then the other. To get it to stay, I twisted the fake greenery wire around the real.

Then I added the pinecones in. I think next year, I’ll cut even bigger greens. I like when they hang over the side.
