I think it’s time for a spring wreath around my place. Ok, so maybe it snowed on Monday, but I’m getting tired of the Winter Wreath. I saw this Dogwood Wreath below in Pottery Barn. I loved it and figured it would be an easy and inexpensive knock-off.
Pottery Barn Faux Trailing Dogwood Wreath below $49.00.
I started by re-using the grapevine wreath that I used in my Winter Wreath.
I hot glued some moss that I found at the Dollar Store.
I then added some blossoming branches I found at Hobby Lobby (1/2 off).
I painted some small eggs I found at the Dollar Store, by mixing blue and brown paint together. The little nest I found at the thrift store.
Painting the eggs….
Then I glued them in the nest and hot glued the nest on the wreath.
Price Run Down:
Grapevine Wreath: $1.00 thrift store (a couple years back)
2 bags of Dollar Store Moss: $2.00
Two floral branch bunches: $6.00
Bird Nest: 50 cents
Dollar Store eggs: $1.00
Total: $10:50
Not bad!

I'm a wife, a sister, a daughter, a mother of 5, a Jesus lover, a coffee abuser, an obsesser of all things DIY, design and decor related.
Most of what you'll see here are ways to live inexpensively, and how I put those into practice with my constant need to renovate houses.
We are a military family of 7, so houses must come big and inexpensive, and made beautiful as we go, turning what most would see as trash, into treasure.
Thanks for stopping by, stay awhile and make yourself at home. I hope you enjoy my ideas.

I’m going to have to try this. I have a grapevine wreath that I deconstructed after Christmas, but I’ve been stumped for ideas. I also have lots of eggs in my Easter decoration box that never seem to make it for display.
Very cute! I love the moss!
Katie- I love it! Great job- I didn’t know that Dollar store carried moss. How did I miss that? I need to start thinking Spring here, too. xo Diana
Awesome!
Love it, love it, love it! Did I tell you how much I love it? Could you make one for me too? LOL!
Have a nice day!
Love, Olga
P.S.: now following via GFC and also via bloglovin’! We’ll keep in touch!
Your wreath is so pretty, I love it! I’m looking for a little nest and eggs like that for a project but can’t seem to find them anywhere!
I found the eggs at the Dollar Store and the nests at the thrift store, but you’ld figure Hobby Lobby or Micheal’s would have the nests this time of year. I suppose you could make a little nest out of branches and twine??

I hope to see you soon
I personally think yours looks better than the PB original. Have you noticed how the predone wreaths are looking so skimpy?
Yes! I was thinking the same thing. Style? Or $ saver? Why do you think it like that lately?

Love for you to share this at my Wednesday’s “Made by ME” linky party here:

Good for you making a wreath that’s better than what you got the idea from. Love to see that. Who would know you made it yourself? So cute, simple and inexpensive.
The only $ store I’ve found moss in is Dollar Tree but who cares as long as you can find it inexpensively. I have to think of all I might use something for when I see it as we live about 20 miles or more from the nearest dollar store. Hope they still have some moss as I’ve got to make that wreath. Sure ready for Spring. We’ve have a mild winter (western CO) but Spring will still be welcome. At least a wreath suggesting it’s on the way. Sometimes it goes straight from Winter to Summer here.
I think I like the wreath you made better than the orginal:) You can’t go wrong especially when it’s cheaper!
It looks fabulous! I think I like yours better as well!
thanks for sharing. i especially love the colors against the dark door.

this is beautiful! I love your wreath! Stopping by from the wreath blog hop at Ginger Snap Crafts. http://xsurvivingmotherhoodx.blogspot.com/2012/03/finally-something-craftyakaspring.html
Great project for $10! I made a wreath from vines from my garden for free, so I could do it for $9! I wrote a tutorial on how to make a wreath from different types of vines in the garden and featured yours as a great way to dress it up. Hope you like it: http://gardentherapy.ca/diy-grapevine-wreath/
Hi, I tried opening in IE, and it seemed to come up a little slower, but still fine.
Thanks for letting me know though!
