Crib to Note Holder

Finally….another project finished!
It’s been one of those weeks where I’ve painted and puttied a lot of trim on walls! I feel like I’ve had craft block….you know, like writers block, but with all my projects. Everything I tried to finish, just wasn’t happenin’!
Now we’re past that though….here’s the latest piece.
My Note Center for the basement.
Before: Dumpster find…$0.
I printed off the word “Notes” and traced it firmly on the wood.
It made just enough of an indentation for me to be able to paint over it.
and the finished product…..
I even decorated a few clothes pins (see feather one above), from things in my craft closet.
Perfect for lists, notes, prayer requests and other forms of family communication. I may even attach a chalk board to the front.
Have a wonderful weekend!

  3. Hi Katie!

I cant totally relate to feeling Crafter’s Block :)

Looks like you triumphed with this one, though! Great makeover using something that others would have (and did!) cast aside.

    Have a fabulous weekend!

  4. Oops! I CAN (not cant!)

  5. I love it, Katie! What a great idea!

I like to see it getting center stage in your basement!

  6. You are simply just amazing! I think it’s your generation (I’m way old enough to be our Mother for sure)…it must have been all those prenatal vitamins my generation took while we were pregnant with you gals! LOL! And look at you all now! You make us all proud!

  7. Oh how cute! I love this idea, and love the way you transformed the crib into the note holder! Very creative!

  24. Sweet idea; I’m keeping my eye out for one of these–already have the chicken wire! Thanks for sharing.

  25. So darling and the perfect way to reuse an old crib. I couldn’t believe when I heard recently that they’ve banned the roll down sides in the States. You’re not even legally allowed to give them to someone. I guess we’ll all be looking for ways to recycle our cribs.

  26. Very cute!!! Are you going to keep it on your front porch. The addition of a chalkboard is a great idea. By the way, I just LOVE the embellished clothespins. :)

I’m pinning this for sure. Thanks for linking up at Romance on a Dime!!

  27. that is adorable!!! it looks so fresh and clean and is useful now!

  30. Came over from Whimsy Wednesday – cute note board. My favorite parts is the distressed paint and the decorated pins! You were lucky to find it – around here thrift stores are no longer selling cribs and will not let you have them – they go in the dumpster. How uncool is that :>(
