Day #14 in the 31 Days of Thrifty Fall Decor series.
Today’s topic:
Fall Banners and Garland
I love a good banner and/or garland for any season.
I picked up this one at Micheal’s Craft Store for around $3.00!
Banners are usually inexpensive to make or buy and can really add to your decor.
They can add festivity, whimsy, color, texture, and coziness to a space.
Here are some other great banners that fellow bloggers/Etsy shop owners have come up with this year.
Both of these images are from Sweet Something Designs.
Michelle is incredibly talented and I LOVE everything she does.
I’m crushing on this rag garland from The Creek Line House!
It’s so cozy and any idea that uses fabric scraps is appealing to me.
This is the second time I’ve posted this leaf and pumpkin garland by BG&H. Love it.
A Beautiful Mess made this felt leaf garland. Perfect for a fun kid’s craft, in addition to fun decor for your home.
I love a new idea and this chicken wire fall banner from A Diamond in the Stuff is genius!
Miss Mustard Seed‘s fall colored banner is so fun! I would want to leave it up all year around!
The Funky Shique Etsy store‘s Polka Dot Halloween Banner is simple, and perfect for any space.
Shilouette America shared some very fun pumpkin shaped, autumn garland.
I’m loving this NEST banner from aka designs. Another one that is great for fall, but could be left up all year.
Great idea to have the nests on the ends!
One of my absolute favorites is this sheet music/leaf garland by The Farmer’s Nest. She made this with her little girl and it’s beautiful and precious.
Paper Girl Studios on Etsy sells this wedding date fall garland. I’m totally in love with it!
So vintage. It’s just perfect!
And last, but not least, Yellow Mums made this leaf cut-out garland. Another new idea that is colorful and clever!
Hope you’re all having a great weekend!
Don’t forget to sign up for the Lilla Rose Giveaway!
And I’ll be back on Monday with more Thrifty Fall Decor tips.

Most of what you'll see here are ways to live inexpensively, and how I put those into practice with my constant need to renovate houses.
We are a military family of 7, so houses must come big and inexpensive, and made beautiful as we go, turning what most would see as trash, into treasure.
Thanks for stopping by, stay awhile and make yourself at home. I hope you enjoy my ideas.

Your banner looks the best! I love the way you decorate your piano “mantel” – I used to do the same when I had one in my home. Beautiful arrangement!
Thanks Meeha Meeha,
I usually do something “simple” up there, since the rest of my LR is pretty decorated, but I was feeling the “spilled cornucopia” vibe this fall, and so there’s more stuff everywhere! lol

Beautiful! I love them all!
Thanks Cristina!
Hope you’re having a great weekend!

Your garland looks lovely on your piano! And you showcased so many good ones too!
They are all so cute and I LOVE yours!!! Have a great week
Tami
Thanks Tami!

You are too much! I have about 4 favorites among these. The little felt leaves really caught my eye as did the first one with the scrolly design around the letters, and the burlap Happy Halloween is so perfect for the time of year. Such creativity you put into what you do!
Liz
Thanks Liz. I know, I’m a huge fan of banners and garland. I think I need one for every season!

I love your banner! What a great group of inspiration, thank you

Thanks Tanya!

Fabulous banners! Love them all!!!
Thanks Anne!
Hope you had a great weekend!

Love your banners! All of them actually.
I made some from old books about flowers and plants, I have photos of them in my blog.
I just popped over from the blog party, this is so much fun!
Awesome! I’m going to have to check those out! Thanks for stopping by!

I love cheap finds! your piano is gorgeous! did you buy it painted or paint it yourself?
We actually found that piano for FREE on craigslist! (Of course I had to pay a moving co $100 to get it to my house) lol, but it came that color…. convenient huh?
Beautiful piano! Kinda makes me wish we had a real one instead of a digital one.. At least it’s been easy every time we move!
Thanks Steph,
I found it FOR FREE on Craigslist! (of course I had to pay a moving co $100 to get it to my house) lol. We do enjoy it though!

This is amazing! Love the warm colours.
Thanks for sharing.
Hope to see you on my blog:)
Thank you!
Just stopping by to invite you to My Wednesday Linky party. http://diycraftyprojects.com/2012/10/whatcha-work-up-wednesday-linky-party-6.html
You are sooooo stinkin’ talented, Katie, and your garland is just fantastic.
But I have to admit, I am downright JEALOUS of that gorgeous piano of yours.
I want one so badly.
Featuring you!
Thanks Abby! Although I didn’t make it, I bought it at Micheal’s Craft Store for a little under $3. Although now you have me thinkin’ about how I could somehow trace it on cardstock and put different words in it??
Anyways, yes the piano. Free off Craigslist! Can you believe it?! Of course, I had to pay $100 to have it moved to my house, but It was still a steal. I love the detailing!
You and your babies are ADORABLE, and I’m sure you’ve heard it a lot already, but you look amazing! I was the girl who gained 60 lbs with each kid at 5’2”! It took awhile to get it all off (5 times!).
Have a good weekend!
–Katie
Regardless of whether you made it or bought it (hey! $3 is a steal!), you styled it perfectly, and that takes serious talent.
And FREE???!
So, sooooo jelly! : )
I had one I could have gotten for free (and it was absolutely gorgeous), but the strings were so rusted it wouldn’t have been playable.
Can you play yours?
Oh, and thanks for the compliments. I appreciate and need to listen to them because I still have about 12 pounds hanging on that I want GONE, and I can tend to focus on those rather than the fact that I have a healthy body that can still fit into most of my clothes (and I am definitely not eating like I want those extra pounds gone, so I guess I can’t really complain : )).
Hope your weekend is fabulous!

Found you through oneartsymama.com
love the use of the piano as a mantle- its fun to do things elsewhere especially if you are like me and have no mantle to decorate- thanks for the ideas and inspiration!
Thanks for stopping by Jodi! Yes, it is nice to have the piano to use the top of! I have a mantel in my basement, but the ledge is so incredibly narrow! It’s still fun to decorate, but the piano is nice for layering.

Found you through your link party. LOVE your site, these banners are great!
