Day #5 of the 31 Days of Thrifty Fall Decor series!
Today’s topic: DIY Spiderweb Plates
I love these. They literally take 5 minutes and they look so cool for Halloween decor!
The How-To:
Start by taking a
* Plain plate (color of your choice)
* A Sharpie Marker (color of your choice)
Start by making a dot for the middle of the spiderweb.
(I like to off-center it)
Then draw lines to the outside of the plate.
Next make scallops from line to line.
Keep making circle after circle of these scallops until the web looks how you want.
Try to keep the circles as even as possible between one another. I like to leave a little bit of the line without the scallops.
* If you mess-up, or you want to use the plate again at the end of the season, the marker easily wipes off with a wet wipe (Give it a try first, it worked for me, but I would hate for you to do this and ruin your china or something).
I love the black on white, but I also painted the white on a black plate for my Halloween Mantel.
….and that’s it! Quick, easy, basically free, and cool-looking!

I'm a wife, a sister, a daughter, a mother of 5, a Jesus lover, a coffee abuser, an obsesser of all things DIY, design and decor related.
Most of what you'll see here are ways to live inexpensively, and how I put those into practice with my constant need to renovate houses.
We are a military family of 7, so houses must come big and inexpensive, and made beautiful as we go, turning what most would see as trash, into treasure.
Thanks for stopping by, stay awhile and make yourself at home. I hope you enjoy my ideas.
