As a Registered Dietitian, and a Type I Diabetic, I’m always looking for new ways to make my holiday cooking lower in calories and easier on the waistline. This year, I’m giving Truvia® Baking Blend a try!

Truvia® Baking Blend is a blend of natural sweeter and sugar, so it’s made from a leaf, not a lab. This sugar alternative provides sugar-like taste and texture in recipes, but with 75% of the calories and twice the sweetness of sugar!
Not only does Truvia® Baking Blend add moisture, and texture just like sugar, but it’s extremely easy to convert, which makes baking with it easy!

Truvia® Baking Blend comes in a new re-sealable pouch and a 1.5 lb bag (approx. 7 cups) is enough to make 13 pies, 9 batches of cookies, or 6 batches of brownies.
I think I will be making the Gingerbread cookies above. I found this and other wonderful recipes on the Truvia®website. Visit the Truvia® website for more tips and information on Truvia® Baking Blend
Gingerbread Cookies

1⁄4 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda

1 egg yolk
2 cups all-purpose flour
2.In a large mixing bowl, mix together Truvia® Baking Blend, butter, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, salt and baking soda until combined.
3.Add the molasses and egg yolk and mix well. Gradually add flour and mix until blended.
4.Split the dough in half and wrap in plastic wrap.
5.On a floured surface, roll out half of the dough 1⁄4 inch thick, then cut with cookie cutter.
6.Place cutouts on cookie sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes.
7.Allow to cool 5 minutes on pan, then place cookies on a wire rack to cool completely.

I'm a wife, a sister, a daughter, a mother of 5, a Jesus lover, a coffee abuser, an obsesser of all things DIY, design and decor related.
Most of what you'll see here are ways to live inexpensively, and how I put those into practice with my constant need to renovate houses.
We are a military family of 7, so houses must come big and inexpensive, and made beautiful as we go, turning what most would see as trash, into treasure.
Thanks for stopping by, stay awhile and make yourself at home. I hope you enjoy my ideas.

I am going to try this. Thanks for the review and recipe share.
Hi Carol! I looked really good! So did the chocolate one! Hope you are doing well and enjoying the holidays!
