Welcome!
This has been one of the first years (in my adult life) where I have been able to decorate a “finished” house.
We are usually in the middle of renovating something….if not everything, and so there are only so many rooms to decorate for Christmas.
–Entryway–
However, this year I felt like I could deck the halls forever!
I think I’ve “finished” 1/2 the rooms in this house this past year, and that is a lot of spaces to decorate, compared to the past.
I will show you what I have done for now. However, it’s only the 8th of Dec, so I will probably re-post an updated house tour at the end of the month.
–The Dining Room–
I went all out in the dinning room this year. The new chair slips are my favorite part.
Lots of silver, black and white, with some rustic elements.
I think my next house will be rustic meets glam. Works perfect for a eclectic junk lover like me.
–The Living Room–
I didn’t do too much to the living room. Added these Dollar Store snowflakes here and there…
Some evergreen clippings, more snowflakes and Christmas lights seemed to work for my piano corner.
…and a little Christmas shelf decorating.
In a week or so, I may hang a ginormous grapevine wreath in the window. We’ll see if I find the time.
–The Kitchen–
I really didn’t do much to the kitchen. I just added these Dollar Store snowflakes to the open cabinet backs.
I love how they pop against the black chalkbaord paint.
–The Nursery–
I added a few simple things to the kid’s bedrooms.
A tree, a snowflake banner and some ornaments were my only additions to the nursery.
I only added a tree to the other two kid bedrooms, so I don’t think you’ll see pictures of them.
–The Basement–
The basement is another place where I added just a few things.
Some greenery, some sparkley silver and some snowflakes.
–Master bedroom–
I have big plans for this room, but I have to have something to show you for the next couple weeks, right?
So this is all I’ll leave you with for now!
Thanks for viewing!
I hope you all had a great weekend.

I'm a wife, a sister, a daughter, a mother of 5, a Jesus lover, a coffee abuser, an obsesser of all things DIY, design and decor related.
Most of what you'll see here are ways to live inexpensively, and how I put those into practice with my constant need to renovate houses.
We are a military family of 7, so houses must come big and inexpensive, and made beautiful as we go, turning what most would see as trash, into treasure.
Thanks for stopping by, stay awhile and make yourself at home. I hope you enjoy my ideas.

Everything looks great! So festive!
STUNNING! Magazine worthy pics! I love everything, so festive and sophisticated!
Hi! I followed your link back from the comment you left on my blog. I was looking through and saw the “disco” ball ornament and realized I’ve been here before. (As an aside, I use disco ball ornaments too!) I saw your table being featured I think at Craftberry Bush. Beautiful, festive home you have. Even the kids rooms look great for the holiday!
Hi Dawn. I remembered your table from Craftberry Bush too! Thanks for the compliment. I was happy to find your blog!
Oh. My. Goodness. The lovely lady that commented above me is right… magazine worthy! Where shall I start? I love, love, love the basement. And the living room. And the kitchen. The sparkly touches throughout your house make everything shine! Love all the different swags and garlands you’ve made. Wow, they add so much! I agree 100% with your “rustic meets glam” statement… that’s my favorite look! Awesome job, I hope your family enjoys it too! Christmas blessings to you and yours… jules
Thanks Jules! I’m glad you liked it! I’m a huge fan of swags and garlands too. I think I’ve made them for every season.
Everything is so festive and beautiful. (I’m loving that white piano, too!)

Love all the decorations, especially the blackboard chalk paint in the back of the cabinets. I’ve been wondering how mine would look so seeing yours was very helpful and inspiring.
I’ve had the open cabinets and the paint for about 2 years. I still love it!
