Hey everyone,
Here’s a post I promised on the chair slips in my Christmas Dinning Room.
This project was a little more time consuming than I thought it would be, but I LOVE the way these turned out!
Directions:
Start by cutting your burlap to your desired length. I sewed one side of the burlap for a more finished look.
For a more shabby or country look, you could leave both sides frayed. I sewed them up to be fitted to the chair back. Then used a basic stencil for the numbers.
Next, I took ribbon and tied it around the chair in two places.
* Hint: Craft glue your ribbons on. Mine on slipping off all the time.
To create the back, I took a Christmas …um, what are those things called, accessories? You know, the things on wire with some garland and other Christmas pieces? I bought mine at Walmart. They were a little over a dollar each.
I tied silver ribbon to the chair, and then tied the ribbon around the (we’ll call it a garland piece) garland piece and real greenery. I added real greenery for some bulk.
…and in the end, they looked like this!
Love this bird one.
This turned out to be a great addition to my boring chairs. I plan on changing things on them through the seasons.

Most of what you'll see here are ways to live inexpensively, and how I put those into practice with my constant need to renovate houses.
We are a military family of 7, so houses must come big and inexpensive, and made beautiful as we go, turning what most would see as trash, into treasure.
Thanks for stopping by, stay awhile and make yourself at home. I hope you enjoy my ideas.

Katie, How beautiful they turned out! Hope you and your family have a fabulous Christmas!

They look lovely, I love all they add to the tablescape! Really pretty simple too. Thanks for the great idea.
I love your burlap chairs! But whoever sits in # 1 and # 4 will have a hard time eating because the centerpiece is really long. Unless you have no one sitting at those end chairs.
haha! So true Marie Roxanne! We actually rarely eat here, because we have a nook in the kitchen, but I’ll have to keep that in mind for dinner party purposes! lol
I love them! The back arrangement look as pretty as the front!
Thanks Cristina! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
beautifully done!!!
Thanks Daniela! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
Thanks so much for linking to Make the Scene Monday @ Alderberry Hill. You are being featured later this evening!
Have a fantastic new year!
Thanks so much for the feature Sarah! I’m trying to figure out how to make them work for January!
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
