My Happy Birthday Chalkboard Banner for the Michaels and Hometalk Pinterest Party

Last week I posted about a Pinterest Party I was asked to do with Hometalk and Michaels.

I went to Michaels to pick out what I wanted to make so I could have an inspiration project for you all.

There were SO many awesome Pinterest Project materials, it was a tough decision…but, I decided to make something with these awesome chalkboard banners.

Here were some of the supplies I started with.

The Recollections Chalkboard Banners from Michaels, a variety pack of chalkboard pens, and some assorted tissue paper (I actually never ended up using the tissues for the banner).

Growing up, my mom had one of those primary colored, shiny Happy Birthday Banners. I’ve always wanted something similar, so this was a great opportunity for me to make my own. Also, they are chalkboards, so they can be erased and used again for different occasions.

I started by printing the letters out on the computer (I used the font Indifference), and then traced them on the pendent. That left enough of an indentation, that I could trace it with the chalkboard marker.

I strung some other simple garland, and set out some presents and roses.
