A Newly Renovated Craftsman

House on Cedar Front_edited-1

Do you have friends with serious skills?

I do! So I couldn’t miss this opportunity to show you their latest renovation.

This 1919 Craftsman has been through a full remodel.

It’s the perfect combination of Craftsman charm and modern amenities.

Everything from the window molding to the oak floors is new to the home, but with all the charm of the Craftsman era. Even this mantel was salvaged from a demolition in the neighborhood. It is probably very similar to the original mantel of this house.

Let’s talk layout!

I’m not sure if I’ve even seen a layout like this before, but I love it! A completely open kitchen smack-dab in the heart of the house, with a fireplace sitting room and an entertainment area surrounding it.  I don’t usually see a kitchen that is this centrally located.  Perfect for moms and entertainers, because even if you’re prepping in the kitchen, you will always be where the action is.

…and can you beat that table and built-in seating?

I think this table and seating area could serve for a formal or casual setting.  Pull up some chairs and linens for your holiday meal, or it’s perfectly casual for a snack after sports practice.

The kitchen is beautiful with bluish-gray tile for the backsplash, new cupboards and appliances.

Past the kitchen, you can see a peak of the Butler’s Pantry, as well as a fantastic built-in. This built-in gives the feel of an older home, while providing an area for a modern TV and wiring.

Here’s a picture of the inside of the Butler’s Pantry right off the kitchen.

Both bathrooms have the timeless black and white, but include classic details like vanity feet and hexagonal tiles.

Framed mirrors and shower tile inlays show just how much thought was given to all the details.

Here’s Eva taking in the front porch. Many of the details, like the window molding, were done by our friend Damian, who owns DP Building here in Spokane. He is a perfectionist and is (like many of us) obsessed with old houses.

The mastermind behind the renovation was our friend Neil. He is the homeowner, who happens to be really good at remodeling!

They make quite a team!

This is one of the bedrooms. Nice and spacious! I love all the molding!

Another great detail. Can’t beat beautiful hardware.

The basement was refinished to include this bedroom, a bathroom and a laundry room.

Great renovation right! Makes me want to move in….but then I usually need to be fixing something, so I guess I should just keep working on one of my 5,000 projects in hopes that someday, my house will look close to this good!

If you would like the selling info for this house located in Spokane WA. You can check out the MLS on the property.

  1. I would very much like to move in now!
