A couple months ago I was at Habitat when I came across the most ugly bench.
I knew, due to it’s size, it had originally been a coffee table.
The cushioned table was SUPER sturdy and the cushion was thick and in great shape.
So I brought it home for a quick paint and recover.
It honestly turned out to be one of my quickest makeovers to date!
I chalk-painted, distressed, and sealed the legs, and then took some upholstery-type gray fabric, tucked the corners and stapled the heck out of it!
I bet it took me a total of 2 hrs to completely makeover this thing!
I love the way it turned out…and I love the size of it! My kids loved it too. It was hard to keep them off.
If my next house is bigger, I think I’ll be trying to make something like this again.
So the next time you see need a large ottoman for your living space, consider taking an old coffee table, adding some cushion and stapling some material over it.
….it may be just what you’re looking for!
