DIY Serving Tray in 20 Minutes

I needed a serving tray, pronto!

I typically gravitate toward the rustic, farm house sorta style so I started rummaging through my garage for scrap wood [scrap wood = FREE!!!].

I found this piece and it was a pretty decent size, it fit a coffee cup and a few other little things…so hey, I figured it should work.

To make it a little cuter and to be more “serving tray” like, I added some (cabinet door) handles.

[Which were left in the garage by the previous home owner = FREE!!!]

I grabbed a can of wood stain that I’d used for other projects [already in the garage = FREE!!!] and a paper towel and wiped some stain over the board.

To make it look more rustic, I hit the board with my screw driver and a couple other tools that were on the workbench. That was kinda fun. Then I applied another coat of stain so the marks I’d just made would show up better.

Next I measured, marked, and drilled holes through the piece of wood and added the handles.
